Congratulations to Juan Pablo Gardea and Aaron Finn for being awarded $500 prizes from the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative! Mr. Gardea’s current research project draws on Foucault to add a philosophical perspective to contemporary politics in the United States and Mexico. Mr. Finn traces how Frege’s attention to arithmetic influenced, and possibly changed, the conception of logic that Frege held at the end of his career. Their work represents some of the very best research that our Philosophy students are pursuing, and the recognition Mr. Gardea and Mr. Finn have received from the College and Arts and Sciences is very much deserved.
