Professor John Taber has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for preparing an English-language translation of Pramanavarttika-Svavrtti, a work of Buddhist philosophy dating to the sixth century. Professor Taber's project title is: Dharmakirti on Thought and Language, Part Two: Translation of Pramanavarttika-Svavrtti, the Apoha Section (PVSV 45,20–69,8). This is the second grant from NEH (Division of Scholarly Editions and Translations) that Prof. Taber and his team (which also includes Vincent Eltschinger, Michael Torsten Much, and Isabelle Ratié) have received for this project. The first volume of the translation was published last year by the International Institute of Buddhist Studies.
